Enjoy Life Soft Baked Decadence Bars Review @enjoylifefoods #review

If you've followed this blog for a while you'll know we life Enjoy Life in our house so I was thrilled to get to review their newly reformatted soft baked Decadence Bars.  We received four boxes to try out.

Before even trying them I knew(or thought I knew) which ones I was going to like the best, 2nd best, etc.  Oh my when I tried them what I thought got blown out of the water!  In your mind combine deliciousness and your absolute favorite dessert together and you'll come to about half of what my taste buds experienced!

My #1 favorite was the S'Mores.  This shocked me as I don't normally like things that are S'Mores flavored.  But oh it's so good!  You can even taste the graham cracker.  And graham cracker is normally a no no for gluten free eating since of course they have gluten in them!  But this is a gluten free graham cracker!  Oh heaven, yum.

My second favorite would be the Cherry Cobbler.  It has just a hint of sweet with the tart of cherries and really was just all around good.  Again, I was shocked because I'm not normally a cherry lover, but this one I really liked.  It was oh so good.  I did make myself share a bite with my husband. . . . grudgingly. . .because he loves cherries.  So he got one bite and I got the rest!

My third favorite was the chocolate sunbutter.  I knew I was going to like this one but again was surprised by the taste.  I have never had sunbutter before but if the taste of these is any indication, I know I will like the sunbutter as well.  Of course, I knew I like anything chocolate!  Who doesn't like chocolate?  It's comparable with being a mass murderer really, I love chocolate that much.  The only thing better than chocolate is chocolate mint.

Okay, it sounds bad to say my least favorite, because this one was really good too.  The Cinnamon Bun was the one that I ranked last simply because they sent me 4 awesome flavors and somebody had to come in last.  Sorry cinnamon bun, but that is you.  I loved the slight yeasty flavor with the cinnamon.  It was really good.

You can't go wrong with any of these four flavors and I'm hoping for more flavors in the future.  They gave me a breakfast bar feel.  In fact, several of them became my breakfast on the go.  Grab a bar and run out the door.  Keep them in the diaper bag/purse and tada you have a meal when you're somewhere that you can't eat because you're gluten free.  Which, of course, we hate to say it but it happens way too often where there is nothing you can eat and you're starving!  Okay, well, at least it happens to me.

And with that I say "Thank you Enjoy Life" for always making it possible for me to eat!

Enjoy Life Foods Chewy Bars Review

I have loved doing reviews with Enjoy Life Foods.  They have some great gluten free/dairy free/soy free, etc options for us in our house to snack on.  Being pregnant I like to keep snack bar type things in my purse for when I'm out and about so I'm not tempted to buy something that isn't gluten free or that costs too much when I feel my blood sugar going down.  These fit the bill nicely!

Oven baked gluten free Chewy Bars by Enjoy Life come in four different flavors; Caramel Apple, Very Berry, Cocoa Loco, and Sunbutter Crunch.  Being a chocoholic the Cocoa Loco was my favorite.  Next, the Caramel Apple, followed by Very Berry, and Sunbutter Crunch.  I liked them all though so it was hard to decide on favorites!

The sunbutter  crunch is a great bar made with sunflower butter.  I am a peanut butter fan(thankfully no peanut allergies here)  and have been feeling cautious about trying out other peanut butter type replacements.  But after eating the sunbutter crunch bar I think I would love sunflower butter.  Very yummy and my kids thought they were peanut butter bars!

My computer went nuts and put this in sideways.  These were my favorite.  Just the right amount of chocolate.  They are not hard and crunchy like some, but rather a nice chewy bar that fills you up and helps you still count calories and maintain a healthy diet without ditching the chocolate.

I really like anything that is caramel and apples together.  I love caramel.  Caramel and chocolate is the only thing better than caramel and apples.  Anyway!  This is a great bar.  You can taste both the caramel and apple and neither is over powering or dominating the whole bar.

The very berry was very good!  The berry flavors are subtle.  Not overpowering or hit you the minute you bite into the bar.  I was surprised at the way they tasted.  They taste like real berries not the highly processed berry flavored substitutes that so many companies use these days.

Enjoy Life Trail Mix Review

If you've read my blog for long you will know that I love Enjoy Life Foods products and have been blessed to do several reviews for them.  My kids were especially happy with our last box that we received.

Not nuts, seed and fruit mix is a wonderful healthy snack for the whole family to enjoy.  Because it does not contain nuts it narrows down the number of allergens that are in our snacks.  I love the fact that it contains only fruit and seeds and no high fructose or sugary treats to go with it.

yes I do just love their logo and the fork for an E

my kids loved the "bubbles" to pop

beach bash
Beach bash is a wonderful medley of dried pineapples(my favorite dried fruit), dried apricots, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower kernels.

Mountain Mambo
Mountain Mambo includes a delightful mix of raisins, dried apples, dried cranberries, chocolate chips, sunflower kernels, and pumpkin seeds.

Beach bash about to dissapear

Mountain Mambo all exposed
The beach bash was my favorite of the two.  I love dried pineapples  and loved the sweet and salty taste of it all.  My kids though loved the mountain mambo the best.  I think that had to do with the chocolate chips.  I do like my chocolate, but I'm not a big fan of raisins so I didn't fight them for the mountain mambo as long as I got to eat the beach bash!

Here's the important allergy information. Basically they're allergy free!

All Enjoy Life products are free of the top 8 allergens and made in a dedicated gluten and nut free facility. In addition to the top 8 allergens most of their products are also free of potatoes, sesame, sulfites, and casein; as well as, no artificial ingredients, no trans fats, and no genetically modified(GMO) ingredients. Sounds good to me! They also have a stricter testing for gluten than the FDA reccomends. They test to make sure they are under 10ppm instead of the recommended 20 ppm.

I was provided with this product in order to facilitate the review; however, all opinions listed in this review are mine and mine alone. I was compensated in no other way than receiving the product for this review.

Enjoy Life Crunchy Cookie Review

As you may have noticed from my Plentils review, chocolate granola and chocolate chips review, and now this review, I LOVE Enjoy Life Foods!!!  Yum yum yum.  This time they have been super awesome and sent me four boxes of their crunchy cookies to review.  I got the chocolate chip, double chocolate, vanilla honey graham, and sugar crisp.

I am not going to go on again about how Enjoy Life got started, but I do want you to know that I cover it in detail in my first post and you might want to read the next paragraph just to be safe.  Sorry I know, but I really think they're awesome!

Enjoy Life began in 2001.

So as you've noticed I really love their boxes and packaging.
And the fork for an E is just too cute!

Forgive my stupid computer for turning the picture please.

Crunchy sugar crisp

Crunchy Vanilla Honey Graham

Crunchy Chocolate Chip

Crunchy Double Chocolate

I happened to be enjoying some coffee when the box arrived.

Double chocolate is awesome dipped in coffee just so you know!
When they arrived we of course had to open them and try them out right away.  The first box to get opened was the Double Chocolate(I'm a chocoholic I confess).   I was enjoying the last of my pot of coffee and of course had to dunk it.   Yum yum and more yum.  The sad thing was most of the cookies in this package had crumbled in the travel so they were in pieces.  The kids and I made the most of that by putting them in the blender with 4 scoops frozen yoghurt and 2 scoops regular yoghurt.  Blend and wallah, instant soft serve yoghurt with cookie chunks.  That was our afternoon snack.  Yes I know totally unhealthy but oh so good!

Sugar Crisp
Next we had to give the Sugar Crisp a try.  They were crisp and crunchy, but not the hard crunchy that makes you think you're eating a rock.  These were a soft cruncy.  Think a real Pfeffernausse baked by a true German(sorry I know this may not make sense, but they reminded me of my great grandmas cookies and she was as German as they come).

Chocolate Chip
Chocolate chip cookies are a staple around our house.  My kids loved these.  They dipped them in their milk.  This box did not last long at all!  Once again they were crisp and had a crunch, but not so hard as to break your teeth of course.  The flavor was superb and if you didn't see the box telling you these were gluten free you would not have known.

Vanilla Honey Graham
The last cookie variety we tried were the vanilla honey grahams.  These reminded me a bit of a crunchy graham cracker.  I think they would taste wonderful crunched up and used as a graham cracker crust for a cheesecake.  Of course, they are very good by themselves too.  These were eaten plain.  No milk for dipping, just enjoying the flavor on its own.  I even had one little one who just nibbled on hers because she loved the flavor so much!

DIY Coffeepot Cleaner

Recently my coffee pot quit working.   I was so sad because I start my day with a nice cup of freshly ground and brewed coffee!  I bought some expensive cleaner to use and it didn't help at all.  My pot still wouldn't work.  So then I got to thinking.  What works to clean most everything. . . VINEGAR!!  So, I brought out my gallon jug of vinegar and filled my water reservoir with a half and half mix of vinegar and water. I let this sit for about 2 hours and then I brewed it.

Perfection as my coffeepot actually brewed the whole pot through!  Of course it was vinegar water and not coffee.  But that is a minor detail!  So, I ran another pot of fresh water through.  It worked again!  Instead of it only brewing 2 cups it brewed the whole pot.

I am so happy with my new cleaning product and love that I can enjoy a pot of coffee again!!

I enjoyed my cup of coffee with an Enjoy Life Crunchy Double Chocolate Cookie this morning and was in heaven!

Enjoy Life Chocolate Granola and Baking Chips Review

I was thrilled to be offered another set of items to review for Enjoy Life Foods!  This time even more so because I'm a chocolate lover.  Actually I think I'm addicted! I received their chocolate granola and baking chunks to review.  The granola was so good for a breakfast on top of some plain yoghurt or with some milk though I must admit I liked it with the yoghurt the best.  The baking chunks I used to make these wonderful Sinful Espresso Cookies

our box

the yummy goodies!

these were seriously all in the box to keep them cold- 15 ice packs

yum chocolate chunks

this stuff is so good.  add some strawberries to the yoghurt and it's delicious!

loving the free of list

again who doesn't love allergy friendly products!

granola with yoghurt

granola with milk

These are some of the best gluten free alternatives I have found out there and believe me I was on a search for a while to find gluten free granola.  I had given up thinking I was going to have to start making my own.  Now though I can get my chocolate fix that is gluten and dairy free for me!

Want to know how I used the chocolate chunks?  I made a gluten free version of a fellow bloggers recipe for Sinful Espresso Cookies.  These are to die for as well.

You can check out my previous Enjoy Life review of their Plentils by going HERE.  I included some great information over there about the company and will just tell you a few quick bits below so you're not overloaded with the same information again. Also make sure to check out my review of their Crunchy Cookies.

Enjoy Life Plentil Chips Review!! #enjoylife

I recently had the opportunity to try the new Plentil Chips from Enjoy Life Foods.  Even now I just close my eyes and can remember their crunchy light airy goodness.  Yum.

So first, let me tell you a bit about them.  Enjoy Life was founded in 2001 by CEO Scott Mandell.  They quickly became a "big deal", from shipping their first products in November of 2002 to entering the Canadian market in early 2005.  In December of 2005 they were the first company to EVER get certified Gluten Free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization(GFCO).  By March of 2010 they already had 32 products out on the US market and 23 in the Canadian market.  March of this year they introducted Plentils, their first salty snack product.

Now onto the product review!  I was sent a box containing four flavors of Plentils.

The outside of the box.  Love how their E is a fork!  Made me giggle!

Inside of the box when we opened it.  Loving all the colors!

Dill and Sour Cream
The dill and sour cream flavor had just the right combinations of dill and sour cream.   I love a good dill sour cream dip and this is what it tasted like.  Plus the light and airy crunch it made just melted in your mouth.  When my kids tried this one most liked it.  There were a few who didn't like the dill flavoring, but I expected that as their dad is not a dill fan either.

Garlic and Parmesan
The garlic and parmesan was by far the kids favorite.  This might have something to do with the fact that we use a lot of garlic in our house so it's a flavor they are all used to.  Oh and of course what kid can resist a cheese taste!  These really were good.  I only got to sample a few though as the bag was quickly gone with my kiddos munching on them!

Margherita pizza
Yeap this is as yummy as the name says.  Margherita pizza was by far my favorite.  A hint of sweet a lot of crunch wonderful combination!  I was tempted to hide this bag and not let the kids try it.  But the good in me did prevail and I did share.  All of the kids liked this one as well and sadly it was gone very quickly.

Light Sea Salt
The light sea salt flavor was good by itself.  Or as a dipper.  My kids really loved using this one to dip up some garlic hummus.  I am blessed to have kids that are willing to try different things.  These are a great munchy snack.

And last a great picture of all the little papers used in the box.  My kids had hours of fun playing with these!!

Don't forget to check out all the other great products from Enjoy Life. I've been cruising around their website and  am making a list of things to try!  Those soft baked cookies sound so good, chocolate bars always rank high up their on my list too, chocolate chips, granola, and the list goes on!  It is normally hard for me to find things that are gluten and dairy free, but everything in their line is!
