Bamboobies! --a Review

All I can say is LOVE!  Have you heard of Bamboobies?  Chances are if you're not a nursing mother you have not.  So let me explain myself.

I received a set of the pale pink regular breast pads.  These are #1 cute!  I mean really, come on, they're shaped like a heart!  This is not just to make mommies feel sexy(though I think it accomplishes that too) but practical as it allows for the fabric to cup the breast instead of bunching up and causing wrinkles so people know you're wearing them.  These are so cute and comfortable and nobody knows you're wearing them!!

I did not try out the oovernights, but reading the reviews, they sound like they would be a life saver during the early stages of breastfeeding or anytime you're going to be away from the little one and not pumping for extended periods of time.

Not only do they make these super comfy and virtually invisible breastpads, they also have nursing covers that look like they just stepped off the runway!  Talk about looking like a fashion plate.  I think I'd wear mine even after I was done nursing. . . . but I'm not really sure I remember what that is since I've been pregnant or nursing for almost 8 years now.  Yikes! 

Bamboobies was started by a young mother in Colorado who decided she didn't want to keep spending the money on disposables but also didn't like the bullseyes that the normal cloth breast pads gave her.  I can agree with her on that.  I used to make my own cloth nursing pads out of old soft cotton sweatshirts.  I'd use a cup base to cut out a circle and sew two of them together.  They worked well, but they'd get to losing their softness and always showed through!  These wondeful little gems do not show through.

My Views:  If this book had been a hardcopy, I would have stayed up all night the first night and read it all in one setting!  Talk about spellbinding.  I think this book put a spell on me and made me have to keep reading.  Mystery, intrique, secret identities, guardians, oh my this book has it all!  It was one of those  I just had to finish!  I think all should read this book!  Keep this author in mind as I'm sure we'll see much from her soon if this book is any indication.

True Devotion -Review

True Devotion by Dee Henderson, Book 1 in the Uncommon Heroes Series

My Views:  I loved the O'Malley series and wanted to read more by Dee Henderson.  So, when I stumbled across this new series, I had to give them a try.  This book was suspenseful more than the other ones and I loved it!  The twist at the end was unexpected and really left me wondering how everything was going to end up.  Highly recommend this book.

The Rescuer - Review

The Rescuer by Dee Henderson, Book 6 in the O'Malley Series

Description (CBD):  Stephen O'Malley is a paramedic who has been rescuing people all his life. His friend Meghan is in trouble: Stolen jewels are turning up in interesting places, and shes in the middle of it. Stephen is about to run into a night he will never forget--a kidnapping, a tornado, and a race to rescue the woman he loves.

My Views:  I was very sad to see this series end.  But, as always it was a great book!  I mean who can't be caught up with the danger and intrique surrounding a bunch of stolen jewels, a blind woman, and a  man who swears he'll not be a paramedic again.  Love this book, love this series.  I recommend this series to anyone who likes a good myster with the added bonus of romance!

My Views:   Yeap another book I loved.  I think I see a pattern.  I really like books.  But trust me, if I don't like something I will let you know.  I tend to only read books that pique my curiosity and interest so I don't normally read ones I dont' like.

Anyway, this book is great!  I really empathized with the main character Samantha and I did NOT expect the twist around who the daughters father really was.  But that's all I'm gonna share.  Mums the word.  You had better read it now!

Fate's Design Review

My Views: 

Two sisters could not be more polar opposites!  And they're twins!  I don't want to spoil the book but I do want to share a few things.  Number one is the fact that Megan dreams.  Not ordinary dreams but dreams of the future.  Normally the dark parts of the future.  Morgan is the happy go lucky(more guy crazy) positive person while Megan is the dark and depressing one. 

I highly recommend if you get a chance to read the book.  I enjoyed it.  The author knows how to spin a tale that will keep you lured in until the very end.  Of course, that end is not all we wanted so I guess we'll have to wait until book two comes out.

I wanted to share this short quote from page 66 of the book. I think it sums up most of the book, well without all the rest of the fun read!  "You have no choice, it is your fate."

My views:  This was a cute short read and I did enjoy it.  I was impressed by the author giving us a central character that had suffered brain damage and had developmental problems in David's sister.  I really liked the book and would say that anyone who would enjoy a short read should pick it up.

My views:  As you may know I've been reading some Dee Henderson books called the O'Malley series.  I was enjoying them so much that when this book presented itself I had to read it too.  It was a very short fast read and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.  It starts off with Scott mistakenly thinking that Jennifer's husband beats her!  And it just keeps going from there.

My views:   I loved this book!  I absolutely could not put it down!  I am searching for the other books in this series now!  This author was new for me and I must say she's great.  If you love a good romance with lots of twists, turns, and intrique, this book is a definite must.  I grew close to Kate and once you learn about her past you understand why she does the things she does.  And then there's Stephanie and her troubles. . . . Jenulence Review

I recently was able to receive and review some great natural mineral makeup from Jenulence.  I have fallen in love with these products and want to tell you all about them!

First, I received Radiance foundation powder/concealer and blue Smokey Eyes set.  I have worn both several times now and can say that I am in love with them.

Let's talk about Jenulence.  On their about me page they show this picture.



I think this is a wonderful sentiment!  How often do we use stuff on our skin that is poisonous if ingested?  I think it is high time we rethought what we're doing to our bodies by putting harmful products on us.

Jenulence was created in 2003 and has a great line of natural chemical free make up and skincare.  All their products are environmentally friendly, biodegradable and they are never tested on animals.  Most importantly, you will not find nano-particles, micronized minerals or FD&C, D&C or Aluminum Lake dyes in their cosmetics.

The wonderful goodie set I received.  I loved the pretty little gift bag!

eye shadows

 These eye shadows are a mineral powder and go on very smoothly.  I loved how soft they felt on my skin and how I did not feel like I had stuff caked on my eyelids.  You will have to be a bit careful putting them on if you don't want some powder making it onto your cheeks!

foundation/concealer powder

 The foundation/concealer that I used was Radiance.  I really liked this and felt it matched my natural shade fairly well.  It went on easily and evenly with a brush.  Jenulence does also sell some great brushes, but I used one I had at home.  I loved how it felt like I really wasn't wearing any makeup at all.  I even tried to rub it off on my clothes and guess what?  It didn't rub off like conventional make up does!  Love!

not the best, but wanted to show the full eye look.  I had not added any mascara yet, but did have the foundation and both eye shadows on.  I did not go very dark because this was a day at home.

The Healer by Dee Henderson, Book 5 in the O'Malley Series

Description (CBD):  Rachel O'Malley works disasters for a living. Her specialty? Helping children through trauma. When a school shooting rips through her community, she finds herself dealing with more than just grief among the children she is trying to help. One of them saw the shooting, and the gun is still missing.

My views:  Once again, Dee Henderson delivers a powerful novel that keeps you reading and wanting more when it's done.  This family has totally captured me and I don't know what I'll do once I read the last book.  You definitely fall in love with the character of Rachel in this book and the plot keeps you guessing.  I admit, I thought the wrong person was guilty for a very long time.  Must read!

Hmm, let me think of a good word to go with our letter.  "Risen" is the word I chose.  I know I told you all before that I really like Easter and the hope it gives us for our future, so this should not come as too much of a shock.  Just knowing that Jesus could overcome death, a death He didn't deserve but took on for us, should give us all a hope for our future and life after death.

Baby Shower Celebration

A few weeks ago I shared a little bit about Picky Sticky

These milestone monthly onesie stickers are great! I have so far used 3 of the stickers. The pack I chose had a "0" month for newborn, and while I didn't get to use it on the day of baby Harold's birth (because I hadn't received them yet) I used them as soon as I could.

These hand designed stickers are super cute and so easy to use. They come packaged in a cellophane package and each month's sticker is on it's own backing. 

They come off very easily and are a cinch to apply to your baby's onesie. As they are transparent you can choose whatever color plain onesie you think will complement your design. When you are done taking your pictures the sticker comes off easily and can even be reused. I decided to put mine on a sheet of computer paper onto which I will then write any special memories as they happen in the coming month. I plan to keep the papers in baby Harold's baby book. Use your imagination and see what you can come up with to reuse your stickers. (It is almost Earth Day after all). There are so many designs to choose from. Check out the Picky Sticky site.
