#AtoZChallenge -R

The letter of the day today is "R".

Hmm, let me think of a good word to go with our letter.  "Risen" is the word I chose.  I know I told you all before that I really like Easter and the hope it gives us for our future, so this should not come as too much of a shock.  Just knowing that Jesus could overcome death, a death He didn't deserve but took on for us, should give us all a hope for our future and life after death.

#AtoZChallenge -Q

The letter of the day is "Q".

"Q" can be a hard letter to think of at times.  Maybe my word for the day has something to do with the kids liking Veggie Tales, but my "Q" word is Queen for Queen Esther.  Esther was such a brave and courageous woman.  I am constantly amazed when I read her story of how brave she was and how she trusted in God to keep her safe as she disobeyed man's law that could have seen her killed.  I think we should all pray for Esther's wisdom(I know I have been) to help us to see things and respond to them in the courage and bravery of our Lord.

#AtoZChallenge -P

"P" is the letter of the day.  Who has a word for "P"?  My son Patrick would say it was him.  My word for "P" is purpose.  We all have a purpose to our life on earth and when we let go of that purpose and just live without a goal we tend to not get anything done.  What is your purpose?

My purpose is to be the best Godly wife and mother that I can be.  This means teaching my kids in the way they should grow, which adds another purpose to my life of being a teacher.  Since I am a homeschooling mother I qualify as a teacher.   Oh, I don't have the certificate from a college telling me I can, but I do have a college degree and I qualify to be a substitute teacher in public schools.

#AtoZChallenge -O

Todays letter is "O".  What is a good "O" word you might ask.  I chose "omnipotent".  Anybody know what that means?  Dictionary.com defines it as an adjective to mean or describe one who is almighty or infinite such as God, also one who has very great authority, limitless power.  Yeap that describes God to me. He is all powerful and can do as He wants.  We have no authority over Him.  We submit to Him out of love, not because He can't make us do otherwise, but because He is a God of love who wants us to come to Him.

What is your "O" word of the day?

#AtoZChallenge -N

Wow.  I missed yesterday totally so I'm doing two posts today!  The letter of the day yesterday was "N"  A good word for "N" for me would be "New".  In that we are new because Jesus made us new creations when we gave our lives to Him. I for one, am glad to be given a new chance to live.  Anyone else glad to have a new life through Christ?  If you don't, please feel free to commemt with questions! Pin It Now!

#AtoZChallenge -M

Today's challenge of the day letter is "M".  What word can we come up with for "M", hmm let me think.  I think Mercy sounds like a good M word.

Mercy.  God has shown us Mercy in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Yeap,  I'm awfully grateful for His Mercy, how about you? Pin It Now!

#AtoZChallenge -L

"L"

Lord Jesus, we thank you for this day.  For your "love" which we ask that you give to us to let shine as a "light" unto the world.  Let our "light" show others what your "love" is all about and bring them to you.

Okay so that's two words for "L" "love" and "light"

Jesus was the light unto the dark and so shall we be when He is within us. Pin It Now!

#AtoZChallenge -J

And today's letter is. . .  . J!  Anybody have a guess what my word of the day will be?  Come on I know you know it!

That's right, my word of the day for today is Jesus.  I'm still all kinds of excited over Easter.  I think Easter is my favorite holiday.  I know it shouldn't be because Jesus died. . . wait yes, it should be because Jesus died!  He died for me, He took my sins and let my sins nail Him to that cross.  Hallelujah let's rejoice daily! #AtoZChallenge -I

The letter of the day is "I".  Today the word that pops into my mind is innocence.  Maybe this word is my word of the day because the innocence of children surrounds me daily.  They are so sweet and so trusting.  They take what you say at face value and don't try to decide what your angle is or if you're trying to be mean or catty.  I love children.

Jesus said we were to come to Him as little children.  Did He mean with an open honest innocent heart? Pin It Now!

#AtoZChallenge -H

Today the letter of the day is H.  When I think of the letter "H" I think of Heaven.  I think this is a word that is especially present in people's minds today due to the fact that some claim the end is near and also due to yesterday being Easter Sunday.

Heaven is a place where there is no sickness or strife.  No suffering or worries will we see there.  Oh it will be a wonderful time in Heaven. Pin It Now!

#AtoZChallenge -G

And the letter for today is G.  Remember, Sunday is our day off so no letter posting tomorrow!

"G" is for God, give, gift, goal. . . . ok so yes it is only supposed to be one word, but God gave us a gift of His Son who would die on the cross for us.  So all those words just go together.  And it's fitting with tomorrow being Easter.  Not a long post today, just this simple thought that I wanted to share with you all.  Pin It Now!

#AtoZChallenge -F

Today's letter in the A to Z Challenge is the letter F.  Thinking about the letter F and the day I'm going to say Good Friday(please understand the word of the day is Friday with Good describing it)!

So what makes today the special Friday that it gets the word Good to describe it?  Today is the day we call Good Friday because it is the day the world has chosen to remember when Jesus was crucified.  I've heard many people who struggle with calling it Good, why not call it Sad or Day of Wrongdoing?  Well, here is my opinion.  Yes, I know just what you wanted to hear!

I believe we call it Good Friday because of the "good" that Jesus was doing.  He died to save us from our sins.  If you don't think that was a "good" act, then I'm sorry.  I think it was a wonderful act, and am filled with "good" thoughts when I think of all He sacrificed for me! Pin It Now!

AtoZChallenge -E

The letter of the day today is E.  I have chosen the book of Esther in the Bible for this one.  Esther was an amazing woman and I think a lot of us can learn from her story.  If you think that all wives were quiet and subservient all the time, you might want to check out her story.

To read the book of Esther by chapter, you can go HERE.  I admire Esther for her willingness to do what was right no matter what it might have cost her. Pin It Now!

#AtoZChallenge- D

Today's letter in the letter a day A-to-Z Challenge is D.  I've been having a bit of a rough day already so I'm needing something encouraging.  What encouragement can we get from the letter D?

I admit I had to think about this for a bit, which is probably why this post is a bit late.  Words that immediately popped into my head were devil, diety, divine. . .

And then I stumbled across this word "diakonos".  This is the Greek word meaning servant or minister.  This is what D is for.  We are to be a servant to each other and minister eachother in our growing faith.  I looked up the word in an online concordance(Strong's Concordance) and this is what I found:

diakonos: a servant, minister
Original Word: διάκονος, οῦ, ὁ, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine; Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: diakonos
Phonetic Spelling: (dee-ak'-on-os)
Short Definition: a waiter, servant, administrator
Definition: a waiter, servant; then of any one who performs any service, an administrator.

I think this describes who we are supposed to be as a fellow Christian very well.  We are to be a servant to others to show the love of Christ through us. Pin It Now!

#AtoZChallenge-C

Today's letter is "C".

What one word do you think of when you think of "C"?  Cookie monster thinks cookies, my kids think cat and cow.  I think communication.

Communication is vital to all relationships, whether it be our relationship with God, our spouse, our children, our best friends, or a coworker.

Think about your communication style.  No matter what our prefered method of communication is, we should strive to be open and honest with people.  I find that if something pops into my head that I want to say, if I think about it, ask myself if I'd want someone to say that to me, and ask myself why I want to say this to them.  I ask myself how they will react to what I'm going to say and if it is truly something they need to hear.

Besides talking we communicate in non verbal ways as well.  These are harder to watch as most of them are second nature.  Do you roll your eyes, look away when you're bored?  Think about what your body is saying the next time you're in a conversation.

#AtoZChallenge B

Challenge Day 2 brings us the letter B!
My "B" word is the Beatitudes.  Beatitude=blessedness

So I actually should get 2 points because "B" is for beatitude and for the word blessedness which is what the Latin word means!  Below you can find the beatitudes.

I think that we all should memorize these so that we can think on them when times are rough.  I can remember memorizing them when I was in elementary school in Sunday School.  These are definitely on the to do memorization list for my children!

Matthew 5:3-12 King James Version (KJV)

3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

#AtoZChallenge -A

This is a blogger challenge I'm going to participate in.  You do one letter a day Monday through Saturday from now on but starting today.

Today's letter is A.

My thoughts on A are these:  attitude.

We need to consider our attitude in all things.  How we go about doing something, how we talk to others, how we carry ourselves, these all share wtih others our attitude.  Do you have a bad one or a good one?  We need to focus on trying to keep our attitudes and outlooks positive.  People don't want to be around others who are unhappy and have a horrible attitude.  I don't want to be around me when I have a bad attitude.  If I don't like me when I have a bad attitude you can bet my family doesn't either.  And remember bad Attitudes are contagious. . . .
