Forever Pure Mineral Makeup Review -The Pitch List

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm careful of both what I put into my body and what I put on it. I know lots of "health conscious" people who put commercial products on their body that are FULL of chemicals and things that are horrible for you!  Things that you would never consider eating.  Why is that?  Why do so many people want to put stuff on their body that they would never consider putting in them?

It's pretty simple.  It's all for beauty.  We are a very vane society and want to be beautiful.  Unfortunatly, most people think that to be beautiful they have to use those name brand cosmetics and body washes etc that are so laden with chemicals.  I'm here to say NOT TRUE!  I have been chemical free in my makeup, deodorant, and everything else for a few years now.

What you say?  How can you wear makeup that isn't full of chemicals?  No, the answer isn't that I don't wear any but rather that I wear mineral makeup!  In fact, I've just discovered a new brand of mineral makeup and facial care called Forever Pure, Beauty Inspired by Nature.

A bit about Forever Pure.  They are a faith based company dedicated to helping women feel beautiful inside and out!  Their products are 100% pure, all mineral, all natural, and gluten free while also being chemical, toxin, and paraben free.  They offer a powder mineral foundation or a cream mineral foundation as well as several eye shadows, liners, primers, blushes, bronzers, and so much more.  In additional to their makeup line they also have a skin care and anti aging line.  I don't feel I need the anti-aging yet, but maybe I should start with it now.  Nine kids have a way of making you age faster!

I received a super cute pocket mirror.  Seriously, this is so adorable and I cannot express how much I adore it!  Love the rose shape too.  Now to the actual review items.  I tried out two eye shadow colors(pewter and sea turtle), mineral powder foundation in neutral ivory, and oil control powder primer.

I love, love, loved the feel of this stuff on my face!  I hate makeups that make you feel like you have a bunch of gunk on your face or seem to devour every piece of moisture off your face leaving you feeling dried out and looking weathery.  I have semi oily skin.  It's really only oily in spots so it is really hard for me to find a foundation that works with me and doesn't make me look oily or make my skin feel super dry at the end of the day.  I was a bit hesitant to try the oil control primer powder, but knew that I would need some form of oil control as the powder foundation did not include any.  My concern of course was that with the oil control powder I would get all dried out and without it I would look like someone had poured coconut oil over my head!  Okay so maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I'm sure you giggled at that mental picture(I know I did).

I loved the effect of the oil control primer combined with the foundation.  I first applied the oil control primer as you would a normal primer just lightly brushing over my face with a bit extra in my trouble spots.  Next(with a different brush) I applied the foundation.  After the foundation I used a neutral beige type eye shadow that I have on hand at all times as it's  a favorite of mine and then applied whichever eye shadow I wanted to wear for the day.  I am a lover of blues and greens and do not buy into the fact that people out of middle school should not wear the colors!  If applied right they look gorgeous and bring out your eye colors.  After my second eye shadow I would apply my pencil eye liner as I have never gotten the hang of using your eye shadow as a liner and my mascara.  I've always been an eye type of girl so I use more time on them  than I do my face!

I am happy to say that I can whole heartedly recommend this wonderful faith based company on to my friends, family, and wonderful blog readers so make sure you check out their website and show them some love from my blog.  You can also check out other testimonials while you are there and find out why everyone else is loving this up and coming company!

Mineral Hygienics Eye Kit Review

If you've been following my blog long you will know that I recently reviewed the Mineral Hygienics Foundation kit and of course fell in love with it.  Now I got the chance to review their eye kit in conjunction with my Mama Madness Giveaway.

The eye kit includes two eyeshadows(I received sapphire and latte), one eyeliner(I received smolder), and one mascara(I received the ultimate mascara in black).  I was very pleased to also receive a jar of the matte finishing powder and an extra eyeshadow shade of blue moon.  In my pictures from my foundation review it was noted that my face still had an oily shine to it at the end of the day and(proving they do care what their customers think) Mineral Hygienics decided to let me try out the matte to see if it helped.  You be the judge by my pictures, but I am in love!

I am definitely in love with these cosmetics.  I love the clean feel and the fact that I don't feel like I have a bunch of gunk on my face when I am wearing them.  I have been wearing the eye kit contents with my foundation kit as well.  I feel very well made up and beautiful as well as not overly done.  I feel natural(well except for the blue lids!).  I love this stuff honestly.  It feels like silk and does not cause an allergic reaction or breakouts.

In the pictures below I am wearing(in order of how I put them on):  Note I took this photos of myself by myself and they are a bit horrid, forgive and be nice in comments please.

fairly light foundation
cool kiss bronzer/blush
matte finishing powder
smolder eyeliner
latte eyeshadow over entire lid and slight sweep towards brows
blue moon eyeshadow in a thick line over the upper lashes
ultimate mascara in black

mineral eyeshadow
With my glasses on, you can see the slight shimmer from the latte eyeshadow.

mineral eye shadow
Closeup to show how I did the blue moon eyeshadow.

mineral eyeshadow
Full effect of the entire look.
I know I'm not very photogenic, but this is what I took.  I really love and recommend this makeup.  In fact, I am able to offer up a mini starter kit as part of the Mama Madness Giveaway so make sure to go and enter to win over there.  Also I can offer a great discount code for all your make up needs!  They also offer lipstick and lipliners too!  Just simply input code:  FORHIMANDMYFAMILY.  This coupon code is good for 10% off the order and is good until April 22nd!  I love coupons and hope you do too!

Mineral Hygienics Review, Natural Makeup

The first thing I noticed about Mineral Hygienics is that they state they only contain 4 ingredients!  Really?  Only four?  Well that was worth looking into!  And guess what?  They're telling the truth!

I received a great little starter kit to try out to decide for myself if they really are as wonderful as they say.
Here is what I received:
2 foundation colors(fairly light and fair)
mineral enhancer (cool kiss)
finish powder (matte sheer perfection powder)
kabuki brush

I do have to say that I love loose mineral foundations.  That's all I wear.  Having said that, I've tried several different brands over the years.  I've also tried the liquid, the pressed, the liquid to powder, etc.

A few things about Mineral Hygienics that set them apart from the others.  They do only contain four ingredients.  They are HD ready, not that I have a lot of pictures taken of me. . . okay so pretty much none ever.

They are nano free and protect against SPF.  This is nice.  It's very nice not to have to worry about sunburning or having to put on sunscreen while wearing makeup(I really haven't figured that out yet) which is probably why I'm always burning.  I burn so easily with my sensitive skin that having some sun protection in my make up is  a great thing.

Very important is that they are water/sweat resistant.  This is a huge biggie for me because I sweat daily chasing after 8 kids and cooking in my kitchen, not to mention when I'm milking the goats, chasing the sheep, watering the horses.  Well I'm sure you get the picture by now!

One of the first things I check out about any new makeup I'm interested in trying is if they are designed for sensitive skin.  Mineral Hygeinics is specially formulated(and doesn't contain all those problem causing agents) to help protect even the most sensitive of skins at all times.  I have yet to break out from it which is high praise in my skins world.

A few more that I'd like to name are that they are super lightweight(I hate feeling as if I have make up caked on), longer lasting, better coverage, does not streak, and healthier.  I also love the fact that they don't require a primer.  So many of the other(even leading) brands of mineral foundation require you to use a primer to get even coverage, but Mineral Hygeinics doesn't.

My cute packing box.
There are a total of 14 different shades of foundation so it's easy to find one that will work for you.  The two I received were fair and fairly light.  I found that fairly light worked better for me, but I can also use the fair.

Loved the confetti and the bag.

Cute!

My kids had hours of entertainment with this stuff.

The Kabuki brush.

Fairly light foundation

Fair foundation

Cool Kiss mineral enhancer
I received the cool kiss mineral enhancer to try out.  The other mineral enhancer is called warm kiss.  Warm kiss is for all skin tones where cool kiss is for fair to light complexions.  I honestly was a bit wary of trying this out.  I have never used blush or anything even close to it.  I stick with my foundation and some eye shadows.  But I did try it on, and you know what?!  I loved it!  I am now a huge fan and will be using it again in the future.  I used it on my cheek and up to my forehead with a hint on my nose and chin.  I felt it gave me a nice sun kissed glow and loved the affect.  I did not use much, just a slight amount to give that hint of color.

Matte sheer perfection finishing powder.
The last step in that flawless look is the sheer perfection.  The sheer perfection is called the velvet finish and comes in two shades, silk translucent and matte.  If you have oily skin matte is best.  I don't have super oily skin but I hate how my foundation would get oily looking before the day was over.  I don't just sit around when I wear makeup, I clean house, do laundry, cook, etc.  This all makes for some sweat and instead of having to dab and wipe at my face this powder just absorbs the oil so I don't look all shiny!

Right after putting on the makeup.  Doesn't look like I'm wearing any huh!?

End of the day!  Bit of an oil sheen on my nose, but not bad for wearing all day!

In the little pamphlet that came with the makeup kit, it shows their eye collection.  Oh my, I'm in love!  I have a bit of an obsession with eye shadows and they have a full page full!!  It will be hard to narrow it down to just one or two to treat myself with for a Christmas present!  They have placed them into three categories:  mocha, sheer illumination, and ultimate mattes.  I tend to stay away from sparkly eye shadows   A few in the illumination area do look like they might have some sparkle, but not all.

They also have concealers, brow powders(can also be used as an eye shadow), automatic eye liners, lip colors, mascara, and lip liner.

Now the one thing that I wanted to share most!!  They are made in New Hampton, Iowa.  That is practically in my back yard.  Well not really, but I do live in MO and IA is just next door!

I received this makeup kit to review.  I received no other compensation for this post other than the product.  All thoughts and opinions are my own and not influenced in anyway. Pin It Now!
