ABOUT THE BOOK
Gabrielle Larson is an average, 15 year old girl living in Chicago when tragedy strikes. In the aftermath, she is forced to relocate to rural North Dakota and henceforth spends the next chapter of her life learning to cope with trials involving everything from family to faith. Laurel Woiwode, daughter of critically acclaimed novelist Larry Woiwode, offers here a moving story that will be appreciated by female and male readers alike. Past Darkness is not preachy or heavy-handed, but rather a touching story about the importance of family, the power of music, and the ever-present mercy of God.

My thoughts: I just received this book and will add my thoughts as soon as I read it! Love the cover though as I'm a fan and lover of horses!
Update: I was able to read this book quickly and wanted to share my thoughts with you! First and foremost, I love horses so needless to say I loved the discussion of horses and loved how a horse played a bit of a role in Gabe's healing. I would have to say that my favorite part is here meeting a certain guy later on(I'm not going to ruin it just yet) and how he helps her. Her aunt and uncle are wonderful people and help her to achieve her dreams. I will let you know that she finally does love music again!
Looks like it is going to be a good read..let us know when you post your review.
