Truly's All Natural Deodorant Review

I recently got to review a new all natural deodorant from Truly's All Natural.  I hate not wearing deodorant and getting stinky, but I also refuse to wear the name brand deodorants that have aluminum, anhydrous and all kinds of other junk in them(you can read a post I did about this called It Has What in It for more information).

Nice neat packaging.

The deodorant.
Now I will have to say that I am not a huge fan of dipping into things and rubbing them on.  I prefer to be lazy and have it in a stick or roll on so that I don't have to wash my hands afterwards.  But this stuff does work so the pros outweigh the only con I could find with it!

It is primarily made of coconut oil which is a natural antimicrobial so helps to kill the things that help make you smell, whether bacteria, fungus, or virus.  Really, coconut oil is almost a miracle drug for our bodies.  The other ingredients are powdered sugar(sugar and cornstarch), baking soda, and beeswax.  According to their website the powdered sugar combines with your perspiration(nice way of saying sweat) to create a hyper osmotic solution which prevents odor causing bacterial growth.  Below is an excerpt explaining how this works:

"When sugar or honey is packed on top of and inside of an open wound, it dissolves in the fluid exuding from the wound, creating a hyperosmotic, or highly concentrated, medium. Bacteria cannot live in a hyperosmotic environment any more than a goldfish could survive in the Great Salt Lake. Scientists have tested the viability of many types of bacteria, including Klebsiella, Shigella, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus pyogenes, and none of them have been able to survive in a honey or sugar solution."

I don't know that I'll be pouring honey in any wounds after reading that, but I will say that this natural deodorant is perfect for those of us who want to know what we put in or on our bodies.  It also works great for sensitive skin because there is nothing in it that is an irritant or would cause an allergic reaction.  Well, unless you're allergic to coconut oil which would be a horrible thing!

Make sure to check out Truly's facebook page as well and watch for any amazing deals or news they might have!  I'm hoping one of these days they'll add some essential oils to their deodorant for the smell factor.  I love my essential oils!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. I wonder if it would work to use a round make-up sponge to put it on so that my fingers wouldn't get all icky.
