The Choice -Review

The Choice (Lancaster County Secrets, Book 1)

The Choice by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Description(from Amazon.com):  With a vibrant, fresh style Suzanne Woods Fisher brings readers into the world of a young Amish woman torn between following the man she loves--or joining the community of faith that sustains her, even as she questions some of the decisions of her elders. Her choice begins a torrent of change for her and her family, including a marriage of convenience to silent Daniel Miller. Both bring broken hearts into their arrangement--and secrets that have been held too long.
Filled with gentle romance, The Choice opens the world of the Amish--their strong communities, their simple life, and their willingness to put each other first. Combined with Fisher's exceptional gift for character development, this novel, the first in a series, is a welcome reminder that it is never too late to find your way back to God.

My thoughts:  I really liked this book and this author, but I would have done things a bit different had I been the writer.  I don't think I would have killed off or removed quite so many people for one!  I love how personable the main character is and really found myself empathizing with her throughout the book.  Now, if only there was a continuation of their story. . . .

I was not compensated for this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not given the book in exchange for a review, the review is just my way of being nice and sharing a book I've had the pleasure to read!

  12. I love books/movies about Amish life! I recently watched "The Shunning" on Netflix which I really liked. I found out that it's based off of a trilogy,so I'm hoping the others are made into movies too.
