Girl Scout Cookies

How many of us remember eating Girl Scout cookies as a child?  How many of us were Girl Scouts(I wasn't but many of my friends are)?  I have several cousins and a niece that are Girl Scouts and sell cookies every year.  We used to buy a box or two to help them out.  We can't this year because Girl Scout cookies do not come in a gluten free variety.  How wonderful would that be!!  I love their thin mints and peanut butter patties and would gladly purchase them in gluten free still.

I came across this petition to try and get Girl Scouts to start selling gluten free cookies from a site I follow and thought I'd share.  Sign if you want gluten free Girl Scout cookies!  I signed this petition!

  1. I think with more people realizing/learning about gluten intolerance this would be a good way for Girl Scouts to recapture a corner of the market that has been closed off to them. I'm not sure that it would be cost effective for them but it would definitely be something worth looking into :)

  2. Wish I had come across this sooner. Being that I was a girl scout leader for some 10 years, I heard it calling. It would be wonderful if they came out with a gluten free variety. I remember when my mother-in-law's docotr told her to be gluten free it was so hard. That was 20 yrs ago.

  3. With gluten-free becoming such a big section in the grocery stores I am surprised that they haven't got one in their lineup, I suppose there has to be some snag, whether meeting their own requirements or some manufacturing issue.

  4. It would be great if the girl scout cookies were gluten free. Of course the price would go up but it would be worth it for a healthier lifestyle and we could all still enjoy the best cookies in the world.

  5. I'm amazed at how many people are now eating gluten-free products. It's great that they are coming up with more products available for those that require gluten-free products.

  7. I am hooked on the mint cookies, if they sold them all year I would buy them all year. I think they must start selling Gluten free cookies because so many people these days are Gluten intolerant.

  8. I think it's a good idea for people with problems with foods and I'm sure they would still taste as great as they have for years!

  13. I was a Girl Scout and sold many boxes of cookies! I always enjoyed selling them and earning prizes w/my troop. I didn't order any this year, but I will buy some if I catch any of the girls selling them on the side of the road! I hope they come out w/a Gluten free variety!
