  1. I would love to hear about the units you are doing in your homeschooling! I would love to homeschool my daughter, but she needs the classroom setting. Just wish our schools were better as she is advanced and I feel the public school system here is pulling her back.

  4. I had never thought about home schooling. I'd be interested to hear why parents choose this over traditional schools. I guess some of the reasons are obvious but I still am curious.

  5. We home school our 4 and it has been a challenge at times but also well rewarding--I don't think there is any other way for us now. With all the folks write about what they are doing, what works , what doesn't work-- it has been a real help. Thanks for you insite. Your never alone in this journey.

  6. I home schooled my kids up until this year, although technically my son is still somewhat home schooled. He has to take 2 classes at the high school to play sports. He's a freshman. My daughter is still at home but she's a senior doing online school. I love having my kids with me. My favorite methods are ones which use lots of REAL books not textbooks!

  7. Thank you for sharing this. I'm a former teacher, but I have worked with several homeschooled students - including my daughter. The sharing of techniques and lessons is so important, as well as providing the students with regular opportunities to socialize with others. Unfortunately, not everyone does that.

  10. I don't see how you do it and the other chores around the house. Home schooling is not for me. I am too disorganized!

  11. I'm a homeschool graduate and now am helping my mom with my siblings. I REALLY enjoy it and have been so thankful my parents have persevered through 25 years of homeschooling.

  12. I loved your "Come Explore With Us". I did this with my daughter all the time. She is grown now and I did it with my grandson and now with my granddaughter. It is so much fun to watch their faces light up with surprise as they see all that God has given us to wonder at and to use on this earth. I pray that one day my grandchildren will do this with their children.

  14. Thanks for sharing about your homeschooling experiences--I am not sure yet if we will homeschool when our LO is of age, but I am certainly interested in learning since it's a serious thought we are considering!

  15. I dont homeschool but some of my relatives have done so. I am a grandma and when I watch the grand kids I always like to do some school things to help then learn more once they start school. The only issue I have with homeschooling is I feel kids need to interact with other children also. Thanks

  16. I have a friend who home schools her 16 and 12 year old and when the time comes I am sure she will homeschool her 1.5 year old. I think her kids are just about the smartest kids ever. Not to mention that they really love it. Mom is super smart, and really puts in a lot of effort in home schooling. It's quite a committment and one I know your children will cherish and love.

  17. Homeschooling is a lot of work just as public school teachers have to do a lot of work. It's definitely a commitment. I am running a preschool program for my kids and childcare kids. It is worth it. I do think we will be using the public school system and supplementing with home lessons!
